What is Human Design?

What is Human Design?

Human Design is the Science of Differentiation. It’s the study of how we’re all different. Each person is uniquely designed with different gifts, different strengths and weaknesses, different ways of making decisions, learning, achieving success and interacting with the world. This configuration that we come into the world with is our Authentic Self. When we embrace and embody our Authentic Self, life flows easier and we feel really good and free because it’s our true nature and exactly how we’re meant to live and thrive.

However, because we live in a society that is unaware and unsupportive of this differentiation, as we move through our lives we repress and reject parts of our Authentic Self in order to fit in and be accepted by others. This is Conditioning and it takes you further and further away from your Authentic Self until it feels like you’re swimming up stream. That’s where you begin to experience frustration, burn out, disappointment, bitterness, anger and depression. The persona that emerges from this conditioned mind is called the Not-Self.

By becoming aware of your Human Design, you began the journey back to your

Authentic Self, removing layers upon layers of Conditioning that have been ingrained in you since birth. This process of De-Conditioning is not quick or easy. It’s an on going process that you must continue to work at throughout your life. It can challenge beliefs that you’ve held onto for a long time and it can be scary to take steps that no one around you understands. But the payoff of embracing the life you are meant to live and the person you are meant to be is beyond worth it. Because when we live in alignment with our true nature, we begin to experience a level of comfort and acceptance for who we are, instead of chasing who we are not—and we’re able to live out our real purpose in the world.

Where did Human Design originate?

Human Design is the synthesis of four ancient wisdoms with modern science. It combines the I-Ching, Western Astrology, the Hindu Chakra

System, and the Kabbalah Tree of Life System with the science of reading the genetic code. It was founded in 1987 by Canadian, Ra Uru Hu, while he was living in Ibiza. He had an unusual mystical experience that lasted for eight days and nights during which he received a transmission of information—what is known today as the Human Design System.

Human Design is not a religion or a belief system. It’s simply a tool to help you better understand yourself and guide you on a path to success. So rather than of asking, is this legit? Instead ask, is this helpful and meaningful? That is for you to decide. You can think of it as an experiment. Your Human Design reading will offer you a practical, actionable user manual to yourself and navigating your life. It will indicate how you are unique as a person, and it will guide you in living in a manner that is in sync with who you are.
